Delta North Monarchs Pass Confidence Vote On Okowa

TRADITIONAL Rulers in Delta North Senatorial District under the aegis of Delta North Traditional Rulers’ Forum have passed a vote of confidence on the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the giant strides so far recorded in the administration of the state.

The vote of confidence is contained in a seven point communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of the forum at the Owa Royal Palace, Owa-Oyibu, in Ika North East Local Government Area.
In the communiqué signed by the Obi of Owa, HRM, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizormor11, the traditional rulers commended the governor for bringing equity, fairness and justice to bear in the distribution of political appointments across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The forum also hailed the commitment of the state government to revamping the education sector, saying that the establishment of a Technical and Vocational Education Board would help in creating opportunities for youths to acquire various skills for entrepreneurship and self reliance.
The monarchs maintained that the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the three technical colleges in Agbor, Ofagbe and Sapele would further boost the acquisition of technical skills by youths.
The forum acknowledged with satisfaction the initiative of the governor in revamping the state’s economy, saying that “Delta Beyond Oil” could only be achieved with more focus on agriculture for food security and industrial raw materials for export to earn more revenue for the state.
While insisting that the SMART Agenda of the present administration was second to none in the country, the traditional rulers urged Deltans to key into the programme designed to rejuvenate the state’s economy.
On security, the forum expressed satisfaction with the bold steps already taken by the state government to stem intra and inter ethnic communal crisis in the state, saying that the Peace Building and Mediation committee led by Prof. Sam Oyavbaire had contributed immensely to promoting peace and security in the state
