    DTSG to Begin Reconstruction of Urude-Ozoro-Oleh Old Road, says Egbabor


    The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has said that the Delta state government will begin the reconstruction of the Urude-Ozoro-Oleh old road within the next two to three weeks.

    The Chairman disclosed this today (17-10-2016) in his office at Ozoro , the Council headquarters while briefing a cross section of Ozoro indigenes on efforts towards rehabilitation of the road.

    While commending the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for approving the rehabilitation of failed portions and total asphalt overlay of the 8.87km Urude-Ozoro-Oleh Road in Isoko North and Isoko South Local Government Areas of the state, Egbabor said the road when completed would bring happiness to the people of the two local government areas.

    According to Hon. Egbabor the councils appealed to the State Government to rehabilitate the road which has become almost impassable to motorists observing that the road is of great socio-economic importance to the people of the two local government areas.

    He disclosed that the state government has started putting measures in place to ensure speedy commencement of work on the road which will also, entail rehabilitation of failed portions of the road and total overlay from Urude Junction to Oleh Junction.

    An elated Egbabor thanked Governor Okowa for his gracious approval for the project, noting that the governor is not only proactive but, sensitive to the plights of the masses.

    He assured the governor that the Isoko Nation will definitely continue to support his administration’s SMART Agenda which will ensure prosperity for all Deltans.

    “I thank our amiable Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his kind and gracious approval for the rehabilitation of the failed road which has been a major source of concern for our people,” he said, adding, “the news of the approval and subsequent commencement of work on the road will definitely calm frayed nerves as the road has been a trending topic of discussion on the Social and Conventional Media.”

    The Council Chairman reiterated, “I wish to use this medium to thank our people for their patience and understanding as the State Government embarks on the rehabilitation of the road.”

    Those who spoke at the occasion, thanked Hon. Egbabor for drawing the attention of Governor Okowa to the challenges of the people
