POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR ASSAILANTS WHO POURED ACID ON A BUSINESSMAN.

In what appeared to be cult related crisis yesterday reared its ugly head in Nsukwa Community, Aniocha  South Local Government Area of Delta State when a middle-aged businessman (name withheld) was allegedly bathed with yet unidentified group of boys suspected to be members of a cult group.
It was reliably gathered that the victim in the early hours had just opened his room door when assailants believed to have laid siege for him, allegedly attacked him with substance put into container and believed to be acid.
Though he is responding to treatment as at the time of this report, but the victim was reportedly left to scream for help during the attack as the suspects disappeared into the thin air.
But the Commissioner in the state, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim in a swift reaction, said the police have intensified efforts to bring the culprits to book, adding that indications are that the fleeing suspects are members of a cult group terrorizing the community in the recent times.
He said: “from what I gathered, the suspects had a day before the incidence chased one of the children of the victim to his father’s house and eventually beat a retreat when they knew they might be apprehended, we are working hard to bring them to book”. Investigation revealed that cult related activities has resurfaced in the community in the recent time, creating palpable tension and fear of the unknown in the area but the police boss assured that those involved in cult activities would be brought to book.
In another development, a seeming crisis is at present brewing within Egbe ruling family of Enwde Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State.
Sources said the Kingship tussle may have allegedly divided some of the traditional rulers in the areas as in the recent meeting held by Isoko traditional rulers, Council of Chiefs, and other constituted authorities at James Ekpre Otobo Hall had remained inconclusive as both candidates, Hon. Anthony Efekodha and Prince Julius Panama were tasked to adopt a unanimous concept that will complement the voice of the people.
But a highly placed Chief who did not want his name in the print said efforts were ongoing to resolve the differences among the ruling house.
