    EKPAN COMMUNITY SUES FOR PEACE, PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOVERNOR OKOWA

    The residents of warri are very conversant with the kind of atrocities in Ekpan community. A place synonymous with fighting, killings, stealing and cult related activities, but with the intervention of the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa brought succour to the community and back to the original state.

    Though, some of the victims of the crisis are still in the morgue but the Youths from all the quarters met today and unanimously agreed not to play with the lives of anyone as there is no alternative to a peaceful living.
    Speaking to the news men, the Ekpan community Youth President Mr. Raphael Olomu and the Disciplinary committee Chairman Mr. Monday Oki, The Youth quarter Chairmen and their representatives pledged to support the existing peace in the community.
    Also speaking, the DC Chairman Mr. Oki Monday and Mr. James Obolor thanked the Hon commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government affairs HON Bright Edejewhro Onajefe-gift, The Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Youth Development Hon Ngozi Lawrence Akpomimie, the Vice Chairman Uvwie local Government Council Hon. Napoleon Iffie and others who refused to play politics with the lives of Ekpan Indigenes and residents.
    The Youth condole with the Families of their Fellow brothers who died in the struggle.
    The group also was full of praises to the Smart Governor who refused to toll the part of his predecessors and chose to settle the issue of ekpan community crisis once and for all.
    They also  pleaded with the Governor, of the state, His Excellency Sen Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to use his good office to bring back companies  that left because of the hostility as peace have come to stay in the community.
    And asked those who are already building, that abandoned their projects due to the crisis should please return back because  we are now a changed people to be trusted with peaceful coexistence.
    They also extended their Olive branch to their fellow youths who ran away from the community to come back only if they are ready to embrace the peace process already existence.
    The youth promised to continue to maintain peace and abide by the memorandum of understanding signed with the Leaders and passes vote of confidence on Delta State Governor Sen Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa
