EXCLUSIVE: Zahra Buhari set to marry Indimi’s son “in two weeks”

The daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari will marry Ahmed Indimi, the son of billionaire oil tycoon, Mohammed Indimi “in the next two weeks”, close family sources told Daily Nigerian.

Ahmed, known in the family circle as Alhaji Mai, is a younger brother to the embattled former wife of Mohammed Babangida, the son of Nigeria’s former military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida.

The marriage, according to a family source, was hurriedly arranged by the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, “to avoid the overtures of elderly suitors”.

“Aisha Buhari doesn’t want her daughter to marry elderly person, so she quickly asked one of her friends to search for a young man with good education and family background,” said the source who preferred not to be named.

“The wedding is planned to be low key, and is taking place in the next two weeks.”

Unconfirmed reports early this year indicated that Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Yari, was planning to Zahra, but the governor quickly denied the report.

Ahmed Indimi was previously into in a number of failed relationships, including an engagement to Nasreen, the daughter of the president’s powerful cousin Mamman Daura and another with the daughter of former minister of Power during Abacha regime, Bashir Dalhatu, simply identified as “Nanny”.

Ahmed is described as one of his father’s favorite sons, who accompanies him to local and international business meetings
