    Ochor Harps on Ndokwa Unity

The people of Ndokwa have been called on the need to have a united agenda on issues of Ndokwa development.

The call was made recently by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), and an Executive Director in charge of Social Services Development on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor, when he hosted some groups in his constituency office in Umutu, Ukwuani LGA of Delta State.

While receiving the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU) youth wing leadership, led by Mr. Lucky Onyia, he pointed out that it is time for the various organizations in Ndokwa to come together, and examine what is the cause of lack of smooth development of the area.

Hon Ochor harped on the fact that for the people of Ndokwa to develop, there must be unity in diversity, and political differences should not be bases for individual and group attack on each other, which overtime had been an issue in Ndokwa, which need to be checked.

“We need to examine ourselves critically, on why, and change our attitude”. He said.

Speaking further, he pointed to the fact that the people of Ndokwa had never called for a successful unity gathering, goes to show how the people are, and such lack of cohesion had caused the deprivation of the people, economic, social and physical development gains.

He decried the attitude of where very few people claim to be speaking for Ndokwa, and go as far as using the social media platforms to degrade the people before the entire world, which should not be.

“We should stop making ourselves a laughing stock, in the pretense of promoting the Ndokwa cause”. He said.

Calling on the youths, he urged them, especially the NNU youth wing leadership to always work as a team, and see their activities to promote the Ndokwa development agenda as selfless and a sacrifice they must do.

He called on them to ensure that as leaders of the apex body of Ndokwa youths; their focus should be to unite the entire youth bodies in Ndokwa to form a formidable force without political god-fatherism.

Hon Ochor also used the forum to call on the people of Ndokwa to continuously support good initiatives that will bring development of the area, and avoid being suspicious of any move made by an Ndokwa son or daughter, that may bring rapid development of the area as a personal agenda.

Reacting, Mr Lucky Onyia thanked Hon Ochor for welcoming them, and promised him that the various youth bodies in Ndokwa will be co-opted to form a formidable force of youths in Ndokwa nation.

Other groups that were received on that day were Team SMART for Okowa and the Reality Youth Group political pressure groups.
