The Meeting between the former Ministers of PDP and the National Caretaker Committee at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Center, Abuja

The Meeting between the former  Ministers of PDP and the National Caretaker Committee at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Center, Abuja.

The Meeting deliberated on various national issues affecting Nigeria and our great Party, the PDP and arrived at the following:

    2. Speaking on behalf of the former PDP Ministers Forum, the Chairman and former Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, overwhelmingly declared its total support for the Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee.

    3. The Ministers expressed total satisfaction on the Committee and pledged their unalloyed and unflinching loyalty to the Party, the PDP and the Caretaker Committee.

    4. The Ministers condemned the outcome of the just concluded Edo State Guber Election and accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of colluding with the ruling Party in the state to rig the election in favour of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki. They called on the Election Petition Tribunal to right all the wrongs in the election.

    5. Finally, both the PDP Ministers Forum and the National leadership of our Party, reiterated the call for the postponement of the Saturday, November 26, 2016 Guber Election in Ondo state by a minimum of 3 weeks to allow time for the Appeal and the Supreme Courts to sort out all the issues pending at the Courts.

As a major stakeholder in the Election in Ondo state and as one of the major contender in the forthcoming Election, it will be unfair and unwise for INEC to go ahead with the scheduled Election without fielding the right Candidate for the PDP.

The Party again reiterated that the only Candidate whose primary was monitored by INEC and conducted in Ondo state in line with the Constitution and Electoral Act is Hon. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, not Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim.
