    DELTA STATE GOVERNOR SEN DR IFEANYI ARTHUR OKOWA CONGRATULATES OLU OF WARRI ON FIRST YEAR ANIVERSARY


    Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has felicitated with the Olu of Warri Kingdom, HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli I, on the 1st anniversary of his ascension to the ancient throne as Ogiame.

    In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, on Monday in Asaba, Okowa said the Olu has “performed beyond imagination“ in the last one year on the throne.

    "Your majesty, because you have done alot, it is almost unbelievable that you are just one year on the throne. You have impacted so much on your people and the whole of Delta State and Nigeria as you have brought uncommon zest and creativity to the throne by ensuring unity among various kingdoms.

    "‎You did not only preach peace but have also acted unity at both state and national levels. You have aptly demonstrated that we can live together peacefully as a people.'' he said

    Governor Okowa particularly thanked the Warri monarch for encouraging harmonious and peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups in Delta State by visiting the various kingdoms in the state and commended His Majesty for using his exalted position for the service of the people.

    “On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, i congratulate His Royal Majesty, members of the traditional council on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the monarch’s ascension to the ancient throne.

    “In the last one year on the throne, His Royal Majesty, Ikenwoli I, has demonstrated exemplary leadership by living above board, while remaining as the rallying point and inspiration for his subjects.

    “As a custodian of culture and tradition, the Olu has played significant roles in the promotion of harmony among the Itsekiri people and their neighbours.''

    The governor wishes the Olu well as he celebrates and also congratulates the people of Iwere nation for giving the monarch all the needed support and cooperation in the past one year.
