Mayor Enujeko while presenting the gifts to the women said apart from his desire to assist the widows to celebrate the yuletide, the gesture was a demonstration of his love and concern for the widows who had loss their bread winners which has no doubt brought untold hardship to the family.
" I have come to identify with you, celebrate with you and to assure you that even in the loss of your husbands you can still live a better life because God is the father of the fatherless and the husband to the widows. Put your hope in God and He will not forsake you. The bags of rice I present to you is not by my power but by the grace of God."
Mayor's last speech was swallowed by a standing ovation. He bowed and left the crowd to share their bags of rice.
The recent presentation of rice is the eight year the youth leader had carried out such humanitarian gesture especially to the widows in Ubulu-Unor without any political inclination. It was no doubt a clear sign of Mayor Enujeko's understanding and recognition of the need to assure this segment of the society that some public spirited individuals will always remember them.
This display of kindness by Comrade Enujeko has further demonstrated his humane spirit which equally extends to sundry individuals in need. Even before he became the National Youth Council Chairman in Aniocha South, Mayor's kindly nature has benefited people too many to mention.
According to an old widow and the Head of the Widows in Ubulu-Unor, " What Mayor means to us is simply more hope and opportunities. He is our illustrious son who does not joke with widows. May God grant him more wisdom, strength and the enablement to achieve greater things in life and be able to do more for the growth of the society in Jesus name, Amen!"
