Okowa Urges Political Office Holders To Make Nigeria better ... As Senator Okpozor Is Buried

DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi  Okowa has challenged political office holders to use their positions to make the country better.

Governor Okowa made the call  (24/02/17) during a funeral mass for renowned politician and elder statesman, Senator Francis Okpozor at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ozoro, Isoko North local government area of Delta State.

According to the governor, "from this day, going forward, we should think of a better society, Delta State, better Nigeria and teach our children to do things right because, then and only then, we can have a better future."

The governor paid glowing tribute to late Okpozor describing him as, "an astute politician, a true family man who trained his children; Senator Okpozor lived a worthy life, i convinced to say so."

"It is important for those of us who are alive to do the right thing; what will you be remembered for? Most times, we live our lives as if we have control of our lives," he said, rhetorically asking, "what will our children, those who are dear for us remember us for?"

Earlier in a sermon, Rev. Fr. Cletus Ewhefa called on Nigerians to put God first in their actions bearing in mind that one day, they will join their maker.

"You must serve God every day of your life because, whatever you are in this world, it is by the grace of God that you attain it," he said, adding, "you will die one day, but, if death comes, are you prepared for it?  Make Jesus Christ your Lord  and personal saviour."
