The Honourable Commissioner for Information in Delta State, Patrick Ukah on Thursday May 4, paid condolence visit on the Iyase of Asagba and former Secretary to the defunct Bendel State Government, Chief P.I.G Onyeobi over the demise of his wife of inestimable value, Nkechi Philomena Onyeobi.
Ukah recalled the warm and superb receptive nature of the deceased, as a mother to all while extolling the virtues of the Matriarch at the traditional home of the Iyase of Asagba.
"I must confess that Mama's exit has created a vacuum that no one else can adequately fill within and outside the Onyeobi family; simply because of her high sense of humour, kind disposition and motherly affection which so many of us had privilege to enjoy during her life time.
"I am deeply pained by her demise, so also is my boss His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and the entire staff of the Minister of information.
"Mama left us at a time we needed her most to further advise us as her children on the way forward in our respective future ambitions in career and service to humanity.
"I humbly and respectfully urge our dear father and Iyase of Asagba to see our mummy's exit as an act of God, believing that God has the final decision about our mission and destiny on planet earth."
Responding, the Iyase of Asagba and the Chief mourner, Chief Onyeobi thanked the Hon Commissioner and his entourage for identifying with his family at this critical time of their predicament occasioned by the unexpected exit of the Matriarch of the Onyeobi family.
"A day before, we shared pleasantries and discussed normally as usual of both of us and she went to bed healthy; only for her to bid goodbye the next morning.
"Its not funny, our trust is in God who knoweth all things and whose decisions and actions remains unquestionable but deep down our hearts we bleed in pains and utmost sense of bereavement.
"Hon Commissioner, once again, I thank you and your entourage and please convey my deep appreciation to our amiable governor, illustrious son of Delta State and Anioma Nation, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa."
The Hon Commissioner for Information, Patrick Ukah was accompanied on the visit by the Executive Assistant on Communication to His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Mr Sam Ijeh (Media Assistant to the Commissioner) and other staff of the ministry.
