The Senior Special Assistant on Contributory Health Commission to Delta State Governor, Solomon Ebinum has lauded Dr. Okowa's administration on the achievements recorded so far by the Job Creation office/ Youth empowerment , saying that the feats are giving him a feeling of great pleasure and happinness that the future of Delta state is Green.
Governor Okowa has sowed a genuine seed to cure many social restlessness and address the economic needs of the state by focusing on youth empowerment because in a society where the youths are given priority and adequate provisions are made for them, there is bound to be peace, and when there is peace, development will not be obstructed, he said.
He gave the commendation on Thursday, 29 June, 2017 while speaking to newsmen during the one day summit “Building a Recession-Free Delta State” put together by the office of the Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Special Duties, Hon Humphrey Uzuakpondu.
Governor Okowa's administration has created jobs in fish farming, rice cultivation, production and processing, welding and fabrication, crop production, hairdressing, Makeover, Interlocking , and also facilitated employment for those who studied agricultural science among others, he asserted.
He said that with the allocation of 74 hectare farmland, allotted 2 hectares per beneficiaries trained in rice cultivation, production and processing ,SMART rice is on the way.
He also pointed out that at no tiime did Governor Okowa stop the free mother and child care that was initiated by the past administration in our hospitals and as at today, over 60,000 pregnant women and children under 5 years are currently receiving free treatment in several hospitals that have been accredited across state.
Ebinum who is a former secretary to Ukwuani Local Government , said, let me use this opportunity to appreciate his Excellency for taking action and getting results because youth empowerment guarantees economic prosperity. The governor has demonstrated to Deltans that he is a man of his words who is busy fulfilling his campaign promises.
He applauded the government’s move on job creation as a step in the right direction and congratulated the beneficiaries, urging them to make good use of the opportunity and be productive.
