Kidnapped Delta State Polytechnic Registrar Released

The Registrar of Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi uku, Mr Collins Ossai Onyenwenu, who was kidnapped at about 3.30pm on Saturday while returning from a social event in Abraka, has been released after four days in the kidnappers’ den. XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE gathered from very reliable family sources that he paid an undisclosed ransom, although Mr Onyenwenu has publicly denied it.

The speculation was that his abduction may not be unconnected with about 200 employees of the polytechnic who lost their job in 2015 after spending fortune to secure the jobs. The appointments were later terminated by the state government as they did not go through the normal process.

Investigations had it that the registrar’s cousin who worked in the registry department (name withheld) was also attacked in his Ogwashi uku residence a day after the kidnap.
