~~~ Igwete Media Endorses (PDP) Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe, Amedu Emili and Nkechi Anazie.
The hope of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recording landslide victory in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, in the Saturday's January 6th LGA elections gathers more momentum by the day as oppositions bury their heads in shame for an anticipated defeat. Igwete Media, has thrown it's weight on the PDP candidates vying for various positions across the LGA.
Prior to this development, a meeting was held yesterday, 2nd of January, 2018, in Amai Kingdom wherein the group unanimously endorsed Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe as chairman, Comr. Amedu Emili for councillor Ward 6A, and Mrs. Nkechi Anazie for councillor Ward 6B.
The group disclosed that her decision in endorsing Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe for the chairmanship position is on the premise of his doggedness, political elegance, foresights, a champion of peaceful coexistence, his all inclusive leadership quality and the developmental strides recorded by the 'Unbreakable' during his glorious administration as the chairman of the council some years back.
The group in its statement acknowledged that at the time, Ukwuani LGA witnessed massive infrastructural development, as well as human capital development, hence the need for him be given the barton to enable him build on his dreams of transforming Ukwuani which the immediate past leader failed to build on. Pointing out that since Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe left office upon the expiration of his tenure, no stone has been thrown to Amai Kingdom by his successor, which lead to Ukwuani LGA suddenly becoming the head quarters of infrastructural deficits and insecurity in Ndokwa Nation.
In the same vein, the group endorsed Comr. Amedu Emili for councillor Ward 6A Amai and Mrs. Nkechi Anazie for Ward 6B, on the grounds that they are over qualified as well as the peoples choice.
Meanwhile, the President, Cyprian C. Odifili in a short remark, thanked the members of Igwete Media, stating further that opposition, irrespective of their political ideology, will not have a place in Amai Kingdom. "It is not in the culture of Amai Kingdom to bring suffering closer to the people. If for any reason the people made mistakes in the past to dance to the tone of opposition in some quarters of Amai Kingdom, I can say authoritatively from my findings that it will not repeat itself. Let those who think otherwise continue to wallow in their unwise thinking and political suicide".
He also stressed that Amai Kingdom over the years has continued to play host to countless abandoned projects, negligence and gross marginalisation, affirming that the second coming of the 'Unbreakable' will rewrite Amai political story at the grass roots and what have you if he is true to his words.
Furthermore, Odifili said that Amai Kingdom over the years has been chanting obvious "political marginalisation", that it's high time they use her PVCs to liberate the Kingdom by voting massively for the PDP.
He also voiced his dissatisfaction on the activities of some individuals bent on distracting the votes meant for Comr. Amedu Emili of Ward 6A and Mrs. Nkechi Anazie of Ward 6B, through sponsoring people from opposition party, and advised Amai people not to identify or vote-in any candidate outside the PDP.
Mr. Odifili appealed to the good people of Amai Kingdom to cast their votes in favour of the PDP candidates, for a better Amai Kingdom and also called on the party leaders to sanction every defaulting member of ward 6 executives cum leaders that are playing anti-party at a crucial time like this and they are keeping mute about it. "It is evil to destroy what you built with your own hands just because the table turned, if you do not benefit now, certainly you will benefit some other time as the party according to its leaders is like an elephant meat which one single person cannot devour".
Conclusively, he made an appeal to Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe, to prioritise the development of Amai Kingdom, by attracting/lobbying, especially in the aspect of road construction projects once he emerge the chairman of Ukwuani LGA on the 6th of January, 2018.
