I supports and promotes till this day, the SMART Agenda and the yet to be witness prosperity for all Deltans but on the proposed increments of tuition fees for tertiary institutions, your excellency, i make bold to say, the timing is wrong and as such I join other parents and students to say NO TO HIKE IN TUITION FEES.
The move to increase tuition fees of tertiary institutions in Delta State cannot be the prosperity this administration led be Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa promised Deltans rather this proposal will impoverish the people, the timing is wrong.
At a time almost all sphere of the society is face with economic hardship, the take home pay can no longer take people home, poor infrastructure, lost of jobs, inability of government in meeting their wage obligations. Whoever, gave this administration this proposal does not mean well for this government.
Yes, there is needs to improving our tertiary institutions both in infrastructure and academics, the question is which comes first, increase price of a product before improving on the product or improve the product before increase in price?
The government should have a rethink and look outside the box for more sustainable means of revenue generation.
I JOIN OTHERS TO SAY CAPITAL NO TO TUITION FEE INCREMENTS
STOP putting more burden and hardship on Deltans.
