    DTHA SEEKS RELIEF SUPPORT FOR OBIARUKU STORM VICTIMS AS 2017 APPROPRIATION BILL PASSES SECOND READING

    The Delta State House of Assembly in today's plenary received a motion under Matters of urgent public importance, moved by Hon. Alphonsus Ojo urging the House to call on Governor Arthur Okowa as a matter of urgency to direct the commissioner special duties and other agencies to send relief materials to those who were affected by heavy storm at Obiaruku in Ukwuani Local government area and the motion was seconded by Hon. Dennis Omovie and unanimously adopted by the house.
    Speaking under personal explanation, Hon. Johnson Ejiro thanked the house for their support during the burial rites of his late mother.
    Today's sitting also witnessed the second reading of the 2017 Appropriation Bill,  approvals of votes proceedings of Wednesday, 16th and Thursday, 17th 2016.
    Speaking during the debate on the bill, the Majority Leader, Hon Tim Owhefere said that the bill is set to carter for the welfare of Deltans. Others who spoke in support of the bill include; Hon. Pat Ajudua, Hon. Efe Ofobruku, Hon. Johnson Ejiro and it was adopted by the House and committed to the committee on Finance and Appropriation.
    The House was adjourned to Thursday 24th November, 2016 at 10.00am following a motion moved by Majority Leader and seconded by Hon. Angela Nwaka.
