HOW ULTRA-MODERN MECHANIC VILLAGE IN ASABA WILL BOOST HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

    By Dominic Okonta/Paul David/Nora Anyibuofu
THE commencement of the construction of the multi-million naira ultra-modern Mechanic Village in Asaba, the Delta State capital, by the state government, in partnership with a Dubai- based company, the Rehomes Property Company, Dubai, will not only boost commerce and employment growth, but also the development of infrastructure around the fast-developing area of Asaba.
The location or siting of the project along the Benin/Asaba expressway, opposite Mariam Babanginda Way, Asaba, will, as a matter of fact, accelerate the growth and development of housing development in Asaba and its environs, especially Okpanam, Issele-Asagba and others, due to their proximity to the project site.
The Pointer Property and Homes learnt that the presence of large population of people attracted to the village, due to the availability of vital spare parts, especially, the products manufactured locally and other technological breakthroughs, will make the crowd a captive audience, as a large number of people, made up of the spare part dealers, developers of warehouses, traders, marketers of other essential goods and, especially, food vendors for the service of the business population in the environment will all be attracted.
The presence of the village will kindle and ensure the tremendous growth and development of housing, especially, residential apartments, warehouses, and business plazas, stores, office buildings and other related structures that will be constructed to support the massive socio-economic development that will greet the village.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony of the village, the state Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, stressed the importance of the project’s location to the socio-economic development of Asaba and its environs.
The apparently elated governor described the village as a comfortable haven for investments, (judging from the relative existing peace and ideal natural level land mass), adding that the peaceful and comfortable business environment will boost the growth and development of the activities of auto engineers and allow spare parts dealers to showcase their products, work and talents and make captive the big potential market (patronage) across the nation.
According to him, many buyers from across the nation would be attracted to the village to purchase all types of auto spare parts, and to repair, wash and weld their automobile products or vehicles with the latest technologies and equipment in a convenient environment.
Speaking at the epochal occasion, graced by captains of industry, state commissioners, the business class, politicians and spare part dealers across the state, at the Isoko South Local Government Area, Warri South, Oshimili, Aniocha South, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani Local Government Areas, the state Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan, expressed delight at the project.
He pointed out that the project, when completed, would house 992 full capacity spare parts rooms, car wash station and other vital facilities that could pave the way for the development of Asaba and its environs and the state in general.
The Rehomes Property Company expressed its appreciation to the Delta State government for the partnership which gave birth to the project and assured Deltans of its readiness to ensure the execution of the project according to specification and time.
Respondents, especially, some of the members of spare parts dealers’ family, expressed joy over the project, adding that its location would pave the way for the expansion of the village, due to availability of land within the area.
