    I TOLD GOD I WILL TAKE CARE OF INMATE SAYS DAME OKOWA



    TO further meet the health care needs of prisoners in the state, the wife of the Delta State Governor and Founder, “05 Initiative, Dame Edith Okowa yesterday presented assorted drugs to take care of different ailments for prison inmates across the state.
    Making the presentation in her office to the Controller of Prisons, Delta State Command, Mr. Sam Iyakoregha along side other representatives from Warri, Sapele, Ogwashi-Uku, Agbor and Kwale Prisons, respectively, the governor’s wife said that taking care of prison inmates was just part of what she told God to assist her in doing when this administration came on board and He has been faithful all this period through bringing helpers to assist her to carry out the assignment successfully.
    Dame Okowa said that she chose to visit prison inmates because she was particular about humanity and will want to affect the lives of the down-trodden, give hope to the hopeless, shelter to the homeless and food to the hungry”, adding that her regular visits to various prisons in the state, especially the Sapele prison, made her to focus more on the health issues, apart from the water supply, food stuff, toiletries, clothing, among others to enable them live a healthy life.
    Dame Okowa said this time, she thought it wise that, instead of going to the prisons to do the presentation, she decided to invite different controllers in charge of the prisons in the state to present the drugs to them for onward distribution to different inmates.
    While presenting the drugs which range from assorted drugs for treating of malaria, typhoid, cough, ulcer, pain relieving drugs, multivitamin drugs, blood pressure drugs among others, Dame Okowa prayed that the medication, when taken, will bring instant healing, both physically and spiritually.
    Responding on behalf of the various representatives of the prisons in the state, Mr. Sam Iyakoregha, thanked the governor’s wife for the gift to humanity, disclosing that Dame Okowa has done to so far in various prisons in the state since the inception of this administration.
    While promising that the drugs will be judiciously given to the inmates, he described the governor’s wife as a woman of God with all her entire “05 team through their way of prison reformations and prayers and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
    Speaking, Sir Solomon Airiohuodion, Deputy Controller of Warri Prison, Mrs. Ukhagbe Patience, in charge of Sapele Prison, Mr. Victor Onyemulu, Admin Officer, Ogwashi-Uku Prison, Mrs. Faith Alika, Superintended Officer, Agbor Prison, Mr. Henry Megbolu, DSP representing Kwale Prsion and Dr. Elliot Igumbor, the state prison doctor, were all grateful to Dame Okowa and all the “05 team in what God is using them to do in the state especially, in the area of prison reformation, pointing out that the previous drugs given to them by the governor’s wife went a long way in taking care of the inmates, and this time, another set of assorted drugs has been donated which they said will be utilised effectively.
