Ebedei community in Ukwuani local government area, of Delta state was yesterday thrown into a celebration state,as two kids,named precious Oku,7 and Ifeakam Miracle,9 declared to be missing in Adonishaka community on the 23rd of October 2016,were found at Isele uku Aniocha North local government area.
Mr.Prince Igbede,Chairman of the Ebedei Vigilantee group while narrating the story and events that led to the recovery of the missing kids,said that the parents of the kids raised alarm of the missing of their children on that fateful day,after search were conducted round the village.He further hinted that efforts on the part of the community and the vigilantee group to see to the return of the kids has since on the date of the incident proved abortive, as there was no communication link between the abductors of the kids and their families or any member of the community.
Speaking further,he stated that the community had in the course of looking for possible solution to the strange development, Consulted different native houses,all to no avail.
While reacting to the incident that led to the recovery of the kids,he said that he was placed on a phone call from One Ebedei indigene ( name withheld) serving at the isele uku police division,that some Armed robbers who were operating in the area were apprehended on the 13th Nov.2016,and when the police carried out a raid on some buildings within the area of the operation, while in search of fleeing members of the arm bandits,it was discovered that some kids numbering four(4) were kept hostage on a particular building within the area, under the very custody of a woman,(Name,Withheld) believed to be from Ebedei community.Mr.Igbede further said that the police man,who is fully aware of the situation on ground in Ebedei Community,instructed him to come along with the parents of the missing kids for possible identification,that both the kids,the woman and the apprehended robbers have been taken to the isele uku police division.
It was gathered that on the arrival of the delegation from Ebedei community to the isele uku police division,the next day,that two of the kids that were declared missing in Ebedei were among the 4 kids recovered by the police from the abductors, during the raid,while One of them was identified to be from Ogume clan in Ndokwa West LGA,reported to have been kidnapped two weeks before the Ebedei case,and one yet to be identified by any body,as at yesterday.The parents of the kids after showing enough prove of ownership of the missing kids were handed over their kids to them by the police,which sparked off a celebration galore in the community.
All efforts to ascertain the true identity of the arrested syndicates,and possible reasons for the adoption of the kids proved abortive, as the police refused the press from granting interview to the arrested Abductors who are currently cooling off the heels at the Umutu police station,as at yesterday.
The parents of the recovered kids couldn't hide their joy,as they gave thanks to God and all that made it possible.
The kids has since yesterday re-united with their families.
