    PRIVATE TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS STUDENTS OF DELTA STATE ORIGIN NOW ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR BURSARY

    Private tertiary institutions students of Delta State origin today secured the approval of the state government to allow them same privilege of applying for the ongoing Delta State Students Special Assistance Scheme popularly called Bursary.
    The approval came after a series of protest has hit the social media world by the aggrieved students who didn't take their ineligibility so likely, as they decried foul play and absolute marginalisation of the private institution students. The protest which was led by the leadership of Novena University, Amai Chapter of NADESSTU called on the National President to quickly intervene between the private institution students and the state government likewise the bursary board to rescind their decision in order to allow private institution students apply also for the bursary.
    The National President who since then has put in unreserved effort in ensuring that his students from the private institutions enjoys same benefit earlier begged the angry students not to hit the streets in protest according to their threats but rather asked that they remain calm and silent as he is a believer of dialogue and assured the students that through his dialogue philosophy he will secure their eligibility to apply for the ongoing bursary.
    Meanwhile early this morning while briefing newsmen at the state secretariat, Asaba after a very brief and final touch meeting with the Commissioner of Higher Education, which started at about 8:15 this morning said upon putting all resolution in place, the approval have been made by the Hon. Commissioner for Higher Education, Hon. Engr. Jude Sinebe who represented the Governor to extend the prosperity agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the aggrieved private institution students thereby allowing them to apply for the bursary just like every other tertiary institutions students.
    The National President Comr. Shaka Emomine who was in company of his National Director of Mobilisation and Special Duties, Comr. Imalah Ugoachanum thanked the Commissioner for his kind consideration, said the Commissioner has never ever acted like a commissioner to the over 2.4 million Delta State students but rather like a father to the students who is always ready to make a shift upon hearing the cry of his children.
    The President while referring to the students, appreciated the over 2.4million Delta State students for the love and support given to him and his executives so far in the course of their administration and also appealed that as their administration is finally drawing to a close, the same love and support should be extended to whoever the students will choose as their next president or leadership while urging them to always imbibe the spirit of round table dialogue as the modern way to conflict resolution citing this as an example.
    While appreciating the Governor, he said the Governor has done well by at this time of nation wide economic recession, still opening the bursary for students to apply is one feat that no other Governor can achieve at a time like this, as he further appealed to the Governor to through his S.A. and P.A. assist the association with the needed funds to enable the association carry out her forth coming National Convention to ensure a smooth transition of Government within the Delta State Students Community.
