BY ABU The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the immediate sack of Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, having been again implicated in the alleged production of fake result sheet for the December 10 legislative rerun election in River State.
Atonyesia D. Peterside, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was allegedly arrested last Friday for the production of fake result sheets. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has however, distanced itself from the alleged production and called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter. The electoral body had fixed December 10 for the National and state House of Assembly rerun elections in Rivers State.
PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, on Sunday, said the police raid on Friday of the printing press located at N0 12, Isiokpo Street, Port Harcourt, Rivers State “shows the desperation within the ranks of APC and the extent to which the party is willing to go to subvert the will of the Nigerian people. “It proves our assertions that APC rigged the recent elections in Edo State and is planning to rig the elections in Ondo State.”
According to the statement, Mr. Peterside, during interrogation said “he was detailed to print the electoral materials by Hon. Emmanuel Chinda, a former Commissioner of Agriculture during the tenure of Rotimi Amaechi – who now serves as Minister of Transport in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.”
