The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Delta State chapter, will hold the World Town Planning Day/50th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday November 8, 2016.
A statement signed by the Chairman Planning Committee, Tpl. (Dr.) Kingsley Chijioke Ogboi indicated that the event will take place at Town Planners House, Town Planning Way, off Madonna College Road, Core Area, Asaba by 10 am.
The statement further stated that as part of the activities for the event there will be a lecture titled, “The Urban and Regional Planning Law, Practice and the Allied Professions: The Way forward.
The World Planning Day is celebrated in 30 countries every November 8th and it is a day to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating liveable environment.
The day is endorsed as a strategy to promote a broad based awareness, support and advocacy of Urban and Regional Planning among the public and all levels of government.
