I must begin by thanking God Almighty for making it possible for you and I to be among the living and to see this beautiful and glorious day only made by him. Many could not make it this far but it does not translate in no means that we are better than them, rather, we pray God to bless the souls of our brethren and grant them eternal rest in heaven. Amen!
The year 2016 was "probably" one of the most difficult of years to our people due to the untold level of economic hardship that was and is still experienced in our country. Parents could barely send their children/wards to school because they could not afford tuition fee. Most families could barely afford standard meals per day and people were arbitrarily relieved of their jobs and buying of commodities from markets became an agonizing adventure. But, in all of these, the good people of Delta North Senatorial District had remained brave, strong, unmalleable and resilient in tackling the challenges before them. I am not surprised at the way our people of Delta North were able to weather the storm of uncertainty because our DNA is wired to be mentally tough, hard-working and always motivated to conquer. We are a peculiar group of people wired to be successful in all endeavours and no one will argue this with us. We must also thank God for the year 2016 because it helped toughened our mental disposition towards challenging moments. But then, there's Hope in this year 2017! A big HOPE that even Steve Wonder could see!!!!!
As your worthy son representing you at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, I want to assure my Senatorial District that this year will certainly best the previous year in all ramifications. I want to state unequivocally that what was witnessed at the unveiling of Obi Francis Nwaoboshi Foundation/Empowerment Programme is just a tip of the iceberg because I will be working tirelessly at augmenting the good efforts of our God-sent Governor (Sen.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa towards bringing economic prosperity, infrastructural development and radical development of our human resources in the year 2017 and by the special grace of almighty God, I will not let you down. We will not let you down.
O Yes! We must give credit and applaud his Excellency, the Executive Governor of our dear State, Dr. Sen. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for his efforts so far at sailing the ship in a steady and peaceful manner despite all the challenges before him when he came on board. Indeed, it takes a man with huge experience, fear of God and a honest man to achieve all he has since been massively elected by the people of Delta State to lead them into prosperity and we must thank God for the positive results of his administration because one with God is majority. His judicious management of the resources of the State and equitable distribution of dividends of democracy across the length and breadth of our State shows his political wizardry and acumen and further gives credence to why he is loved by all. Let me equally state in this 'Message Of Hope' that by the special grace of God almighty, our good and loving governor will surely complete his two-term tenure and it is certain!
Together with our amiable Governor, this year 2017 will be a year of huge success in the lives of our people.
Your Excellency Sir, the good people of Delta North have seen your efforts so far and they are deeply satisfied with your style of leadership and we are assuring you that our constant and humble prayers are with you.
