THE wife of Delta State Governor and Founder, 05 Initiative, Dame Edith Okowa has commended the Forum of Special Assistants to Commissioners (FOSAC) in Delta State for its laudable initiative at supporting the less -privileged members of the society.

Dame Okowa, who spoke when the group donated various food items to the 05 Initiative during its courtesy visit to the First Lady in Government House, Asaba, said acts of cheerful giving elevate the financial status of those who engage in it, adding that such gestures attract more blessings to them.
Some of the donated items were two bags of Mama Africa rice, two cartons of Brisk Farm tin tomatoes, four packs of tissue paper, four gallons of Septol antiseptic disinfectant, two gallons of groundnut oil, two cartons of Caprisonne fruit juice, two cartons of oxford cabin biscuits, two big size of Omo detergent, 20 cartons of Instant Indomie noodles, and 40 tubers of yam.

Receiving the items in Government House, on behalf of the governor’s wife, the Director-General, 05 Initiative and Wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Kevwe Agas, commended the forum for being the first to visit the First Lady of the state in this new year with gift items to support her foundation, urging them not to relent in doing good and prayed for unity amongst members of the group in order to achieve greater feats.

She said giving elevates and blesses, and this kind that is given to those who cannot afford to cater for themselves surely brings blessings and that is what the 05 initiative is all about, adding that the 05 Initiative, which talks about the ministry of help, is based on scriptural principles which involve the five-fold ministry of giving in Matthew 25 verse 36-37.

Earlier, the Chairman and leader of the forum, Hon. Pius Okonjo, Special Adviser to the Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Austin Chikezie, said that the forum, which was formed two years ago with many objectives, found the need to identify with the 05 Initiative pet project of the state governor’s wife.
He said that the forum deemed it fit to reckon with the 05 Initiative because of the spiritual nature of the foundation and what they have been contributing to the wellbeing of the needy in the state.
Hon. Okonjo, while presenting the items ,said they came to give out their token and promised that they will continue to assist the First Lady in their own little way so that she will be able to take care of the vulnerable set of people in the society that need the assistance to survive.
