Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) Power Supply Crisis Resolves Says Newworld Safugha.
The commissioner for Energy Delta State,Barr Newworld Safugha, has charged the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to reconnect the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) to power supply as soon as possible.
Barr Safugha gave the charge during a stake holders' meeting between the Ministry of Energy, BEDC and DELSUTH Management, in his office.
Barr Safugha said the emergency meeting was scheduled to resolve the lingering power crises in the Teaching Hospital due to the sensitive role the hospital plays in saving lives.
He urged the Management of DELSUTH to pay their bills as at when due in order to avoid further disconnection by BEDC,so as not to endanger the lives of Deltans and other patients who patronise the Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The Board Chairman, Hon. Chris Oghenechovwen, thanked the Ministry of Energy for their quick response to the cry for help by DELSUTH saying it was a sign of dedication to service and also urged members of the Board to be on their toes at all times as they where called to serve humanity.
The manegement of BEDC led by the Delta state head,Ernest Edgar promised that his organisation would reconnect the hospital as soon as they pay up part of their bills as agreed by both parties in the meeting and promised that BEDC would continue to partner with the Delta State Government through the Ministry of Energy to enable them deliver on their mandate
