Delta State Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU with Setheo Engineering Company of South Africa for the construction of Umunede Rest Park in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to the Chairman of the State Economic Management Team, Dr Kingsley Emu, the Umunede Rest Park is global logistics hub which will be constructed on 176 Acres of land graciously donated by the Umunede Community. Dr Emu further said the Park will consist of Trailer parks, Hotel, brothel, shopping centre and other amenities.
Dr Emu who doubles as Delta State Commissioner for Economic Planning said the rest park when completed will prevent deaths and accidents that occurs on the road on daily basis as well as improve on the economic activites in the area.
He disclosed that the State Government is considering developing a similar park for the Petroleum tankers in Warri.
