The lawmaker representing Ukwuani State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon(Dr.) Alphonsus Ojo has charged married couples to always communicate their feelings, show love, be tolerant with each other and understanding as part of measures to strengthen and sustain their marriage.
Hon.Ojo who gave the admonishment today at Ebedei, Ukwuani Local government area during the traditional marriage ceremony between Miss Chineye Emu and Mr. Thomas Adaro, said that the beauty of marriage is not all about the celebration on the day one is getting married, but in the hard work, love, tolerance and understanding that couples show in their marriage life.
"I want to charge both family and friends present here not to interfere in the affairs of the couple, they should learn to help the couple succeed in their marriage rather that being over possessive of their love and become source of rancour and acrimony in their marriage", Hon.Ojo who was the Chairman of the reception ceremony stated.
He explained that the couple need to pay attention to each other and build a home based on the fear of God for a blissful and fulfilling marriage,, stressing that the need to be tolerant, and ensure constant communication between them on all issues. The lawmaker equally observed that marriage is not a bed of roses, but rather has its own challenges and requires constant work to make a successful of it, calling on them to make God the foundation of their marriage so as to sustain it.
He prayed God to grant them all the blessings that goes with marriage.
