    I’m Ready To Work With Opposition Parties –Okowa


    THE Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa has said that he is ready to work with opposition parties and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

     The governor made the statement when he received members of the national Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC)¬ and the state chapter of the council on a courtesy visit shortly after the reconciliatory meeting in Asaba.

     The Senior Special Adviser to Governor Okowa, Chief Festus Ochonogor, who represented the governor at the occasion said that Governor Okowa is a governor for his party, the PDP and the opposition parties in the state and is ready to work with everybody to accomplish his SMART Agenda.

     Earlier, Chief Ochonogor had said that he is very happy that the misunderstanding that almost tore the state chapter of the Advisory Council apart has been settled and that the governor can deliver the dividends of democracy to the masses using them.
     He also assured them of the governor’s determination to carry everybody along and used the opportunity to inform IPAC of the massive road construction work and the various youth empowerment programmes going on in the state.

     The National Secretary of IPAC, Chief Sam Eke (Phd) in his address said that they were in the office of the Senior Political Adviser to intimate him on the success of their reconciliatory meeting.

     He said that shortly after the inauguration of the state IPAC, there was a serious misunderstanding between the various political parties in the state, but now that it has been resolved, they are ready to work together as a team.

     Chief Sam Eke who scored the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration high, told the Senior Special Adviser that their aim of forming the Inter-Party Advisory Council was not to fight the ruling party, but to work with the government to deliver the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

     The national secretary was accompanied on the visit by the Publicity Secretary, Chief Ogbuehi Dike, the National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Saidu-Bobboi, the state Chairman of IPAC, Chief Frank Igwebuike and various party chairmen of the state.
