Treat The Mambila Fulanis Like Other Nigerians, Kera Tells FG

Dahiru Hassan Kera, a public affairs commentator has called on the Federal Government to come to the aid of the displaced Fulani in the last week attacks at the Mambila in Taraba State who are now living helplessly in Government Day Secondary School Nguroje and Gembu and other locations where many of the displaced persons are taking refuge within the safer localities.

According to Kera, "It’s disheartening and disgusting that, after the dozens of Fulani have been slaughtered in a field day genocidal killing by the bloodsucking militia which left thousands of their cows killed and hundreds of houses destroyed, the Taraba State Government have failed to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the victims and in some camps, there wasn’t any security provided by the government and therefore, there is fear and apprehension of another possible attack.

Kera further said, "the cursory and indolent way the state government handled and responded to the whole issue calls for proper investigation especially by setting an independent judicial commission of enquiry to ascertain the level of complicity and to proffer some assistance to mollify the unbearable sufferings of the surviving victims.

"I therefore, call on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency send a high profile delegation to the Mambila and equally provide relief materials cum security to the victims as its unfortunate the only thing the state government could do was to play politics on the number of casualties which are in variance with the testimonies from the military and other eye witness accounts", Kera said.

It would be recalled that; there was reported attack on the Fulani communities in Sardauna Local Government of Taraba State where the Mambila tribe and Jukuns allegedly killed many innocent Fulani and their cows with many houses reportedly destroyed.
