    TWO YEARS IN OFFICE, HON. ANTHONY EMEKA ELEKEOKWURI GIVES MID-TERM REPORT.



    ORPHANS, WIDOWS AND THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED WELFARE SCHEME
    This scheme provide special welfare package for the widows, orphans and the physically challenged, over Hundred (100) persons in this category have benefited from the programme.
    ELEKEOKWURI OVERSEA TRAINING PROGRAMME
    This is an oversea training programme designed to train youths of his constituency to acquire basic skills in their various field of studies .  Over ten youths  were  sent to India in the  first phase of the program with  twenty(20)youths set to live abroad for the second phase.
    WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME
    This is a project that focuses on giving financial assistance to women in his constituency to start their own businesses. A total of over  twenty  (20) women have benefited from the programme so far.
     STUDENTS FINANCIAL ASSSISTANCE SCHEME
    Students Go-back to School financial assistance scheme for students of higher institutions in the constituency. Over forty two (42) students have benefited from the Scheme.
    YOUTHS ENTREPRENURHSIP PROGRAMME
    This is a youth empowerment scheme established for persons who have successfully completed their skill training in various fields of life in the constituency. A total of over twenty five  (25) youths have also benefited in this scheme.
    YOUTHS AGRICULTURAL SCHEME
    This program encourages youths to form and register co-operative societies which qualifies them to receive financial assistance to finance their farming projects. Over  twenty persons (20) youths are currently engaged in this program.  
    GRADING OF SEVENTEEN (27) EARTH ROADS
    Hon. Anthony E. Elekeokwuri has within his two  years in office graded over twenty seven  earth roads across Ika North East Constituency.
    INDIGENT STUDENTS ASSISTANCE SCHEME
    This scheme provide financial assistance to  undergraduate & postgraduate  indigent students  who cannot afford their school fees .  Over 15  persons have benefited from the programme.
    CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS
    As part of his constituency projects for 2016,  He  has supplied hundreds of  students desk and chairs/ Teachers's Tables &Chairs to schools across his constituency

    1, Delta State   Administration of Criminal Justice ; He is the lead sponsor of the Bill for a Law for the Administration of Criminal Justice which seeks to domesticate the administration of Criminal Justice Act in Delta State and this wonderful Bill was unanimously supported by his colleagues and has been  passed awaiting ascent from the Governor.
    2, Delta State Environmental Management Agency Bill; He is the lead sponsor of the bill which have passed second reading in the House. And currently before the House Committee on Environment.
    3, Delta State Equipment leasing Bills,: He is the Lead sponsor bill which have passed first reading in the House
    4, Delta State Infastructure Bill : He is the Lead sponsor,  the bill is currently with house awaiting first reading.

    OVERSIGHT FUNTIONS
    1, He chaired the joint Committee on Public Accounts/Local Government and Chieftaincy  Affairs that investigated the twenty five (25) local government councils in Delta State. To ensure accountability and transparency in the local government councils.
    2,  He was the chairman of House committee on Public Account that worked on the  Delta State Procurement Commission Bill 2016,  that have since been passed into Law in the .
    3, He chaired the joint committee of Public Account and Appropriation, that looked into the accounting books of Minstries,  Departments and Agency of the State which ensured accountability and transparency in the handling of public funds in the MDAs.

    He has moved and supported many motions at plenary; one of such is the motion to include Ika nation among the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC)

          Watch out for  the following projects under the community development drives which have been attracted and to be partly funded  by the Lawmaker in some of the communities in his constiuency .
    1, Renovation of  Health Centre, Renovation of Classroom blocks and drainage in Palace Road Umunde.
    2,  Re activation of water borehole & Building of Examination  Hall for Secondary school Students Owa- Alero
    3, Owa Ofie building of Classroom block with principal's office & another 3 classroom blocks.
    4, Multipurpose town hall & renovation of 3 Classroom block , Mbiri
     5, Provision of water bireholes & Renovation of Classroom blocks at Ute- Erumu
