On a serious note, I personally hitherto respected Dr. Cairo Ojougboh. No doubt, I saw him, although wrongly, as a successful politician who had risen to heights, envied by his equals. But as my mother once told me, "Never grow on lies, because it has very weak roots" and that was the mistake, a supposed leader made, growing on lies.
Without casting aspersions on his person, there are a lot Nigerians, Deltans especially, have to understand about Dr. Cairo Ojougboh before they ever think of taking him serious. Dr. Cairo is an internationally renowned hypocrite and liar who has always had a problem with those who do things right, little wonder, he has a 'thing' against The Sen. Okowa administration. His soft spot for wrongs and causing disaffection earned him the description of a well-known, branded thug and a disreputable mischief maker by Suleiman Abubakar (an investment banker). With such a description, can Dr. Ojougboh's sense of judgement ever be right?
Before we accept his over night repentance or another of his false accusation someone trying to eliminate him, has Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, who allegedly defrauded the African Leadership Institute in the University of Kansas, U.S.A. in 2010, cleared his name which was linked to the attempted murder of Hon. Nduka Irabor, a former member of the House of Representatives? Deltans would not want to be deceived into disliking a man whose only goal is to enthrone a legacy of Prosperity for all, because of lies from one who is known for trying to end the life of one of their Representatives! Neither would Nigerians want to trust a man who brought to disrepute their countries image because of his fraudulent nature.
In his attempt to set Deltans against their ever hardworking Governor, Dr. Ojougboh forgot to include in his letter, that he pleaded with Gov. Okowa for his younger brother, Nwachukwu Ojougboh to be among those appointed by the Delta state Government, yet he openly criticises these appointments, but pleads for his family members to benefit from same appointments. Such double mouthedness should not be found in the one who wants to advise Deltans. Today, his younger brother, Nwachukwu Ojougboh is an appointee of the Delta state Government.
Although, he has the liberty of speech, doesn't his conscience prick him when he lies to Deltans? Or is it because he is used to not following due process, that he believes others do not follow due process? The wrong doings in his days as Chairman of the board of NEPZA (the sole Federal Government Parastatal that can designate areas as free zones), where he was exposed while trying to employ his friends through the back door is still fresh in our minds.
Please, I want to advise Dr. Ojougboh to learn the process of governance, which from the look of things, he didn't learn after many tutoring by the then Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga who had made several interventions including giving him a joint lecture with the SGF, to educate him on good governance as taught by Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.
And to Deltans and Nigerians, I want to once again quote my banker friend, Mr Abubakar who said, "Let no one be deceived or distracted by this man, who will soon face the wrath of the law for his many misdeeds..... as he is groping about in the dark and dabbling into issues just in order to get money from his new paymasters, haven seen how sly, silly and stupid a man can be when he is hunted by the hollowness of his character and “smallness” of his mind"
