The member representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigeria Senate and senate committee chairman on Niger Delta affairs, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, is no doubt the most political colossus Anioma Voice, who has ever risen to the Red Chambers, and succeeded in becoming a voice to reckon with at the upper chamber by breaking into the (Senate Caucus).
Though it is obviously understandable that in a country like Nigeria which is roughly splited into two religiously, and massively splited ethnically, can be said to be the worst political ground that can encourage effective leadership, be it the leader is performing or not, mainly because of some selfish reasons, which are not far from greed and ethnic/tribal sentiments, which is the only reasons performing leader's like Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is still suffering massive baseless and some unfounded criticisms.
The baseless criticisms appears to have now become the norms of some Anioma deluded political analysts which is giving the most distinguished Senator a more strong footing in his effective representation and has made the public to see reasons on the need to discard most of the Senator's critics which are mainly products of greed and envy.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, before he was elected by the good people of Delta North to represent them at the Senate, had left some footprints in various endeavours of life and had also served the good people of Delta North, Delta State and Nigeria in diverse ways.
He is an intellectual colossal with four degrees; BA Hons (1986), LLB Law Uniben, BL Law School, LLM Masters Degree from Delsu.
He was a Political Aide to the then Governor of defunct Bendel State in 1979.
Chairman NRC, Old Oshimili LGA from 1991-93. State deputy Chairman DPN party from 1995-97.
He was a founding member of the PDP (Delta State Chapter) and the first Delta PDP state secretary in 1998.
He was once the commissioner for Agriculture and special duties Abuja, and Chairman raw materials research and development council, Abuja.
He is the father of Equity in Delta Politics, whose struggle gave birth to Anioma born Governor (Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa)
He was a two term elected Delta State PDP Chairman 2008/2012 and before his resignation, built the state's PDP secretariat that was described then as the best in Nigeria.
Let it remain on record; the youths across Anioma that he assisted in schools are uncountable, (education being the best gift you can give to a youth) though he does not make public most of these gestures.
The graduates across Anioma he assisted in gaining employment he has lost count.
Some of the youths he sponsored abroad then are today, financial forces! How about secondary school students scholarships, the silent empowerment programmes carried out among other humanitarian services too numerous to mention.
He however resigned as the Delta PDP chairman in other to answer the call of the good people of Anioma to uphold their mandate at the Senate where he currently serves as the Senate committee chairman on NDDC and Niger Delta affairs, based on his political elegance and administrative dexterity he is known for.
In his emergence as the Senator representing Delta North at the Senate, it is noteworthy that he emerged among the best performing Senator under two years of effective representations with five (5) bills to his name.
He ensured that the NDDC gets all that is due to it from the Ecological Funds.
He investigated and probed contractors who abandoned NDDC jobs before his emergence as the Senate committee chairman on NDDC, and ensured they were back to site, and most of the roads have been completed as of today.
He donated ambulances and hospital facilities to hospitals in Ika Nation.
He had organized general empowerment programmes in the year 2016 across his district, not forgetting also the cenotaph, Asaba mega empowerment.
About 400 students across Delta North benefited from his scholarship and social welfare packages in the year 2016, through his Obi Francis Nwaoboshi Foundation.
He facilitated the inclusion of Anioma students in the NDDC international scholarship scheme in which most of our students are benefitting from till date.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi fought with Ndokwa Nation and succeeded in placing her youths in the Presidential Amnesty Programmes, which they were denied of since 2009/2010. All of this he achieved under two years at the Senate.
Many are still wondering how he succeeds!
Unbiased political analysts in Delta State and Nigeria will sincerely admit that Senator Nwaoboshi, has a rare political capacity, acumen, elegance, exposure, dexterity and formidable force to attract whatever project that will benefit the good people of his district.
Some of the bills he has sponsored so far under two years includes; A bill for an act to amend the public officers protection act. A bill for an act to promote and regulate the real estate sector. A bill for an act to amend the code of conduct bureau and tribunal act and A bill for an act to repeal local Government act, some of which are already passed into law, while his recent motion for the amendment of the NDDC act will go a long way in favouring Delta North.
A recent study has shown that Delta North Senatorial district of Delta State, Nigeria, is among the senatorial districts in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria with the highest Numbers of road construction projects, under the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The study also ranked Delta North, among the 10th senatorial districts, with the highest numbers of completed NDDC road projects between 2015-2017.
The study went on in discovering that the availability of NDDC projects in the district, between 2015-2017, exceeded the roads projects that were executed in the district between 2013-2015.
Judging from the infrastructural developmental pace in Anioma (Delta North) as well as human capital development, one may be tempted to ask the brain behind it. Others perhaps will conclude that it's as a result of their performing Senator Nwaoboshi, while some persons would remain deluded in their responses.
Let it also be noted that the Skill Acquisition Centre he built for the good people of Anioma, which is situated at Ibusa will soon commence operations.
More so, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has recently empowered 784 persons aimed at boosting micro-credit business and cutting down the effect of recession in Delta North Senatorial District.
The 784 beneficiaries, who each received N50, 000 totaling N39.2 million, were selected from the nine Local Government Areas that make up the District.
Let the record be made known that among the road projects he has attracted so far in Delta North, about 16 road construction projects have been completed, some under constructions while more are expected to be awarded for constructions soon.
These made me to remember the statement he made when he was interacting with General Boroh late last year; "You need me, just as I need you".
In the words of Hon Chukwutem Nwogor a chieftain of the PDP, he said in quote: " When you find someone so special, you don't treat him like he's anyone else".
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is a man who understands the concept of accountable representations. With or without deluded political analysts and criticisms, he has performed more than expected.
We strongly believe that he is a God sent to Anioma People, with him our interest is secure and our course will be advanced.
Senator Nwaoboshi was quoted on Easter Sunday to have said; "I don't want to be remembered as a Senator who represented Delta North senatorial district at the senate, but also to be remembered by my legacies. At the end of my tenure, let my works be counted and assessed by the people to know if am qualified to Continue 2019. My campaign slogan will be; I did this, I did that, the one over there, I did it also".
In the words of my brother Chuks Otutu; " Life mandates us to continually choose between good and bad in every sphere. In government, the ramifications of choices we make are evident in the quality of life of the people".
It is left for the good people of Anioma whether or not to trade our political blessing (Senator Peter Nwaoboshi) for uncertainty, as most of our folks did in 2015 GEJ.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is not only a loved leader, but a leader loved by all.
In Senator Peter Nwaoboshi we stand!
