Delta Partners Youth Leaders On Grassroots Development

The Delta State Government is partnering with community youth leaders in the development of the grassroots and sustenance of existing peace across the state.

The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Chief Festus Ochonogor stated this while speaking at an interactive session with community youth leaders from Delta South Senatorial District yesterday in Asaba.

Chief Ochonogor said the present administration was committed to bringing governance closer to the grassroots through the community youth leaders based on their roles as the pillars of their communities.

He identified adequate community policing, as a vehicle for achieving a stronger democratic architecture, pointing out that Governor Okowa was passionate about empowering the youths, and urged them to remain firm and resolute in their support of the present administration.

In their remarks, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Mr. Henry Sakpra, and the State Director of Protocol, Mr. Ifeanyi Eboigbe charged the youth leaders to demonstrate a high sense of commitment in partnering with government in the development of their communities.

Some community youth leaders who bared their minds frowned at the situation where youths would be mobilised during election and abandoned afterwards and expressed confidence that Governor Okowa through the office of the Senior Political Adviser would give youths in the state a new lease of life.
