The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya on Wednesday described the death of his colleague and friend, Hon Beatrice Omawumi Udoh as painful and sad.
In a condolence message to the family, Igbuya described Udoh as a dogged fighter, grassroots woman and leader.
"I wish to convey to you the deepest condolence of the Delta Sate House of Assembly”
In an emotion laden voice, Igbuya said “It is really hard to believe. It is just so sad"
He described Hon Udoh as an extra-ordinary woman who demonstrated a life of service, love, compassion and excellence to her family, community and the state.
"Hon Omawumi Udoh distinguished herself as a member of the Delta State House of Assembly. Her death is a great loss to the state. We will miss her" he said.
Igbuya also commiserated with the good people of Warri South.
'Hon Omawumi Udoh built a bridge of hope and unity among her people. She played politics of development. She had a generous spirit. She was dependable in every facet of her life. She was also admired for her wit, charm, vision and steadfast devotion to her political associates and family" Igbuya said.
He prayed the Almighty God to grant the soul of Udoh eternal rest and members of the family the strength to bear the loss.
