The government of Delta State, on this day 23-01-17 have successfully signed a memorandum of understanding with the authorities of the Novena University, Ogume Delta State. The MOU was signed in order to allow the government hospitals in Delta State to be used for the training of their medical students.
Novena University has been established, and started operation since 2005 to meet the yearnings and aspirations of our youths and women who are unable to get opportunities for education since the spaces available in existing institutions cannot accommodate a good percentage of those who apply each year in Delta State and Nigeria, for admission.
The honourable commissioner for health, Dr. Nicholas Azinge, speaking at the event, thanked the State government for facilitating the MOU, stating that it's a right step in the right direction for the State and the institution. Dr. Azinge continued by pledging, that the ministry of health will ensure the smooth running of the programmes.
In addition, Dr. Azinge also thanked the Pro-Chancellor of the Institution, Dr. Chuks Ochonogor for his endless desires of providing an outstanding standards of learning for the students of Novena University.
Meanwhile, the Pro-chancellor of the institution, Dr. Chuks Ochonogor thanked the State government for the approval of his proposal, for the state government hospitals to be serving as a training centres for his medical students. Stating that it will go a long way in upgrading the standards of learning in Novena University. He also promised that his institution will forever remain grateful to the Delta State government.
Furthermore, the Honourable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Delta State, Hon Peter Mrapko, commended the initiative, stating that the government is always open for passionate ideas. He also emphasised on the importance of medical students and medical practitioners. He also promised that the government will build on this partner and once again congratulated the institution.
