    Gov Okowa's Aide Ossai raises hope of unemployed youths in Delta State, Described Okowa as a Youth Friendly Governor



    Youths in Delta State has been called upon to embrace peace to give room for more employment and empowerment in Delta State.

    The Political Aide on Special Duties to Delta State Governor Mr Ossai Ovie Success Made This known during the weekend at Agbor while addressing pressmen.

    According to Ossai, Gov Okowa youth empowerment Programme has yielded some fruitful result as a result of Gov Okowa determination of reducing the rate of unemployment in Delta State noting that gov Okowa is youth friendly governor.

    Despite recession in our nation, Gov. Okowa never gave up on his promises to the people which has increased his street credibility in Delta State.

    In August 2015, Gov Okowa launched the Job and Wealth Creation Scheme with the following programmes viz; Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP), Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP), and Production and Processing Support Programme (PPSP).

    Today, I am excited to announce that the Okowa led administration has created over a total of 17,173 (seventeen thousand, one hundred and seventy three) private sector jobs. This figure consists of 6,800 (six thousand, eight hundred) direct jobs and 10,373 (ten thousand, three hundred and seventy three) indirect jobs of both skilled and unskilled workers. As a Special Purpose Vehicle, the Office of the Chief Job Creation Officer accounted for 7,522 (seven thousand, five hundred and twenty two) of these jobs while the remaining 9,651 (nine thousand, six hundred and fifty one) were created through projects, programmes and initiatives implemented through the various MDAs.

    Also just recently information were spread to the general public   particularly Youths of Delta State Origin, that the Office of the State Chief Job Creation Officer, has opened a register of unemployed graduates in the State.

    Secondly,  the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development has invited women and girls interested in acquiring skills to visit any of the Skills Acquisition Centre located at the following places: Asaba, Agbarho, Ubulu-Uku, Oko-Anala, Kiagbodo, and Amai
    Skills available are as follows: Fashion and Design, Catering and Management, Hair Dressing, Soap Making, Bead Making, Computer Appreciation, and, Decoration.

    It has also be announced for the information of the general public particularly Deltans that in pursuit of the State Government’s desire to make the teeming unemployed youths in the State acquire skills for a meaningful living, the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (DEMSMA), has concluded arrangements to train interested youths from the State in foot wear and leather products..

    Speaking further Ossai said, In all of these, there are hope in Delta State regarding the employment and empowerment of youths in by Gov Okowa .
