    Obaseki, APC absent in court as Ize-Iyamu and PDP tender documents and evidence


    Hearing at the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal resumed today in Benin City as the counsels to the petitioners (People’s Democratic Party and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu) have started to tended documentary evidence in support of their petition which is asking the Tribunal to decide and declare that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the winner of the September 28 Edo State gubernatorial election which INEC awarded to Mr Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress.


    As at 10.40am this morning, the chairman and members of the tribunal had all mounted the bench and hearing had commenced.

    Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and chairman of his party, Chief Dan Orbih, are personally in court.

    As at press time, 11.00am, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his party chairman, Barr Anselm Ojezua, were absent.

    As at 11.00am, the Petitioners had commenced tendering of documents starting with the results sheets.

    Results sheets for Akoko Edo and Egor LGAs were all tendered successfully. Next were documents from Etsako West LGA which were ongoing as at press time.
