    UniUyo Student who hawks doughnut pays thank you visit to Radar Publisher

    Mr Lawrence Etim Udoka, a 200 level student of Political Science Education in the University of Uyo who is sponsoring self and daughter, Favour, in the university, today, Tuesday, paid a thank you visit to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Radar Newspaper,

    Otuekong Franklyn Isong, for making an online report on him sometime last year, which, according to him, turned him to a ‘celebrity’ and transformed his doughnut business in the state.
    Mr Lawrance Etim, a 44 years old man, noted that the online publication, which was done on the Facebook Timeline of the Radar publisher, without his knowledge, showcased him to the world, saying that the publication made him received several telephone calls from people within and outside Nigeria.

    He stated that at first, he did not understand why the calls and financial supports were coming, until his attention was drawn to the report on the Facebook Timeline of Franklyn Isong.
    Mr Udoka, who hails from Ikpe Ikot Akwa in Etim Ekpo local government area of Akwa Ibom state, said he had to trace Radar Newspapers’ Office in Uyo to enable him meet and thank the publisher.

    Udoka said that so far, he received donations of about N110, 000. He stated that of the amount, he used N50, 000, to rent a space at Urua Akpan Andem area in order to start up his jollof rice restaurant. He bought Showcase with N15, 000; Potatoes Slicer with N16, 000; Plates with N6, 000; paid for his son’s WAEC fee for May/June 2017; and sent N10, 000 to his wife for her upkeep in December 2016.

    He thanked all his donors and prayed almighty God to reward them abundantly.

    On his part, the Radar publisher welcomed Mr Etim to his office, saying that he was only discharging one aspect of his social responsibilities as a journalist by putting up the said article about Mr Etim on his Facebook timeline and other social media platforms, even when, he did not know Mr Etim.

    He applauded Etim’s courage to go about selling doughnuts on his head even as a student despite being a university student, still go around town selling doughnut on his head.
    Isong, advised Etim not to be distracted by people and should know that God’s favour is upon his business. He encouraged him to be serious with his education and to always put God first in everything his does.

    He urged youths in the country to emulate Mr Etim and to shun criminal acts that would not take them anywhere.
