    MAY DAY: DESOPADEC M.D/CEO OLOROGUN WILLIAMS MAKINDE LAUDS DESOPADEC STAFF AND DELTA STATE WORKERS RESILIENCE ,HOPEFUL OF BETTER FUTURE ,COMMEND DELTA STATE GOVERNOR, SENATOR DR ARTHUR IFEANYI OKOWA COMMITMENT TO WORKERS WELFARE IN THE STATE.



    The managing Director /CEO of Delta state oil producing areas development commission (DESOPADEC) Olorogun Williams I.I.Makinde,FCA,PhD , has commended  the staff of the commission and workers in the state for their resilience in the face of biting economic situation, but expressed the hope that the future holds better prospect for the commission Staff and indeed the entire Delta state Workers.

    In a message released to the press by his Media Assistant  in Warri on Monday to mark this year’s Workers’ Day, the Managing Director/CEO noted that the prevailing economic situation must also not be allowed to cause disharmony between the Staff and the  Governing Board of the commission and also organised labour and the State government.


    “To my great workers in DESOPADEC and the state at large  I appreciate you. It is the  responsibilities of the state Government and the current board of the commission by ensuring regular payment of  salary  Notwithstanding the dwindling allocations to the state, The free fall of oil prices in the international market ,Destruction of major export lines in the state which are now under repair through the  effort of the  state Government.

    I must commend  the state Governor ,Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for his efforts  and determination for a better living Standard of workers in the state.

    "we  appreciate your understanding and support in this critical period. All hope is not lost, as there is a silver lining ahead.

    “The current situation does not affect workers only, it affects all of us. But I am very optimistic that with your continued support and prayers, we will weather the storm.
    As a board,we will continue to work closely with the state Government to bring the needed development to the oil producing communities in the state.

    “I wish you all a happy celebration of your day and I pray that God will spare our lives and when next your day comes, we will all have a better story to tell,” he said.
