God smiled at some mothers yesterday evening, through Hon. Friday Osanebi who was in the hospital to rejoice with one of his aides.
It was another show of love, empathy and care, when the Delta State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Friday Osanebi visited the Federal Medical Centre Asaba, to celebrate with one of his aides whose wife delivered a bouncing baby boy.
After the initial celebrations and thanks to God for safe delivery and arrival of the baby, Osanebi who was quick to ask, inquired why the hospital ward was so crowded?
The nurse who was on duty told him that a number of women were expectant while others were stranded, after delivering and unable to clear their bills, especially some that delivered through caesarian session (CS).
At that point, Osanebi further asked if there were any other medical protocol, still delaying the mothers and the new born babies, the nurse said no, but only the unpaid bills.
Like a dream of the night, Osanebi ordered one of his aides that was wth him to liaise with the nurse and take account of all the women that have delivered, including those with high bills due to CS. The figure was handed to him, and that was how the women were all discharged with joy in their faces.
Expressing his shock and gladness, one of the fathers, Mr. Fred Kachi Iluegbunam, who testified with tears thanked God for his saving hands and for using the Deputy Speaker to remove shame from his family, saying that it has been tough for him, ever since he lost his job.
Benjamin Joy, one the women that had CS, thanked God also and the Deputy Speaker immensely for saving them from borrowing, because according to the husband, Mr. Benjamin, they had already concluded plans to borrow after waiting for some time in the hospital, before the intervention came.
The aide, Agbanashi Obinne, whose child brought the blessing for the mothers and families; thanked God for his faithfulness and the life of his boss.
He said he was not surprised at the magnanimity of the Deputy Speaker, saying that as simple as breathing, the boss is kind hearted and gives anywhere to help humanity and to the glory of God.
