The Lawmaker representing Ukwuani state Constituency in the Delta State house of Assembly,Hon(Dr) Alphonsus Ojo had on Monday felicitated with the muslim faithfuls in the state on this year's Eid-el fitr celebration and urged Nigerians to make the fear of God the foundation for their daily living.
In a goodwill message made available to the press to commemorate this years end of Ramadan fasting celebration, Hon Ojo urge Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayer even in the face of daunting socio economic challenges bedevilling the nation.He said that the present challenges are surmountable, "if we all realign our characters and deeds in tune with the wishes of God and Allah.
He stated that the country can only regain its lost glory when citizenry uphold the virtues of good neighborliness and eschew intolerance of other peoples opinion, abuse of power,disregard for due process and disobedience to the laws of the land.
According to Hon Ojo,"Self discipline and love for fellow human being is one of the important virtues of the Ramadan fasting period,and that these virtues should not desert their minds after ramadam,noting that with the fear of God,mutual respect and love " we will tolerate one another, work together and be able to harness our abundant resources as a progressive naton adding that these characters are the panacea to moving the nation forward.
The lawmaker used the opportunity to call on the different arms of government not to rest on their oars on the onerous task of building a formidable nation were all will live in peace and unity.
He charged Muslims to continue in prayer for the government and other agencies in the fight against terrorism,adding that the peace and socio economic development of our nation remains paramount.
The lawmaker also used the opportunity of the Eld-el-fitr Celebration to call on Muslim faithfuls in the state to redouble their support and prayers for the Sen.Okowa Led prosperity for all Deltans government in his quest to bringing prosperity to all the nooks and crannies of the state,inline with the Governor's avowed mantra of prosperity for all Deltans.
Hon Ojo wished Nigerians particularly Muslim faithfuls in his constituency a happy and hitched free Eld-el-fitr celebration.
