Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State was yesterday agog with couple of activities as the Honourable Commissioner for lands and survey Hon.Chika Peter Ossai rolled out his empowerment programme for his esteemed constituents cum Commissioning of a gigantic church building donated to St Peter's catholic church, Iselegu his home town.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony which was attended by the Executive Governor of Delta State Sen.(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa,Hon.Ossai stated that the gesture was in fulfillment of his promise to the church and contributing his quota to the growth and advancement of Christianity in his place.He further noted that the Church project which started some few months was put in place to complement Sen.Okowa's giant stride in the area of community development and service to God and humanity through reaching out to the less privileged in the society with a view to adding value to lives.
The Commissioner noted that the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme were carefully selected from across the ten(10)wards of Ndokwa East LGA with the core view of ensuring that those who really needs the empowerment makes the list of those to be empowered.He asserted that more of his constituents would be accommodated bin subsequent phase of the foundation's empowerment,assuring his people that he would continue to his best to ensuring that the prosperity for all Deltans Government of Sen.Okowa comes to berth in Ndokwa East LGA.
Speaking further, he called on the good people of Ndokwa east Local government area to redouble their support and continue in prayer for the Prosperity for all Deltans government of Sen.Ifeanyi OKowa in its bid to bringing prosperity to all the nooks and crannies of the state, inline with the Governor's avowed determination of bringing prosperity to Deltans.
Earlier in his Address,Governor Ifeanyi Okowa applauded Hon.Chika Ossai and his foundation for rolling out the empowerment programme at such a critical moment as this.He called on the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make sure that the items given to them are judiciously utilised, calling on other appointed and elected Political office holders to replicate same gesture as that of Ossai in their different LGAs and constituencies.He equally urged those not selected in this first moo phase to be patient and prayerful, as better days awaits them.
High point of the Gathering was the presentation of empowerment items to selected beneficiaries ranging from Cars,Grinding machines,Knap sack sprayer and cash rewards to the tune of 5million Naira.
