The absence of the right kind of leaders who will lead this country to confronting under development, poverty, tribalism and even nepotism is a still a very big task and challenge before the Nation Nigeria and her citizenry.
However, in the midst of these leadership challenges in our clime,there are few outstanding leaders whose efforts geared towards changing the story of our country are tangential, but whose political principles are often times misunderstood.
Notable among such outstanding leaders is the most distinguished Senator representing the good people of Delta North senatorial district, and by extension, the Chairman Senate committee on Niger Delta Affairs Sen.(Barr) Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi.
A fearless, articulate and dogged representative,whose representation in the red Chambers of the National Assembly, has put Anioma Nation in its rightful place in the map of the nation and beyond
Sen.Nwaoboshi's relentless fight at ensuring that equity and fairness as being enshrined in the party's Constitution is up held is the state, gave birth to a Delta Northerner becoming the Governor of the state using his equity campaign platform.This indeed is a landmark achievement of Sen.Nwaoboshi that would never be forgotten in a hurry by every right thinking Anioma Indigene.
His journey to the Senate has not been a smooth one,in terms of legislative and oversight functions with the general outlook of events in the country, a distraction too expensive to play back.But despite all these,Sen.Nwaoboshi is shining like a million star to the admiration of his fans, colleagues and even his adversaries. His doggedness in his early days of Politics,perhaps may have been taken for granted, but his continuous believe in people oriented leadership which was clearly exemplified during his stay as PDP Chairman in Delta State,won him the ticket and mandate to represent his people in the Nigerian Senate.
Oracle,as he is fondly called by his political proteges and associates, has so far sponsored a handful of bills and raised motions of urgent public importance when appropriate.He has amplified and continues to amplify the voice of the Anioma people before the entire senate. Despite attempts by some cabals to stop him, Sen.Nwaoboshi has continued to push on,not minding whose ox is gored,all in a bid to ensuring good representation of his people.Notable among this is the dogged fight for the inclusion of Ndokwa youths into the presidential Amnesty programme. A privilege the Ndokwa people has been denied of since 2009 and today,the pragmatic effort of Sen Nwaoboshi has seen the Ndokwa youths fully captured into the presidential Amnesty program under special consideration with the First 96 set of beneficiaries trained in various Agro related skills and fields.
In the intriguing burgeoning of the 2015 Governorship race and power tussle in Delta State, he was very supportive of his party,the PDP.His appearance in the soap box,provides a composite picture of a true problem solver.He moderates his speeches and rarely jumps into the fray,and these qualities of his,has further help in defining his enigma.
Call him an enigma or a man of destiny, you won't be wrong,for his life defiles estimation. At a time you didn't give him a chance,when you think he has come to the end of the road, he bounces back like the cat with nine lives or the immortal bird in the greek mythology.
Sen.Peter Nwaoboshi no doubt, is a bearer of the annoiting of God's grace.But it is also true that he has profusely oiled his wheels of grace by selflessness, patriotism, kindness, hardwork and commitmet to the common good of his people.His approach to Politics and services, his preoccupation with the collective rather than self,has continued to boost his political staying power.
As a first timer in the Senate, he has navigated his way through the murky waters, achieved remarkable milestones and carved an enviable niche for himself and indeed the Anioma people. Although, many may disagree with his modus operandi and style of Political dance step,but in all,he remains the most desired,as a near perfect representative of his people. This is exemplified in the many unsung democratic dividends he has attracted and influenced to his people over the years.
It is however expected of the Anioma people to always appreciate and continue in support to a remarkable torchbearer in government and a national asset to his people. An appreciation to Nwaoboshi will no no doubt spur him to do more for his highly reverend Anioma people,as watchers of his contributions at the floor of the Senate, can individually attest to his commitment and contributions to national unity. His footprints are in the sands of time, everywhere across the nation,as he has received several leadership awards from NGOs within and outside the country in recognition of his good leadership qualities and political prowess.
Nwaoboshi is indeed Ok for the Anioma people.
Come 2019,I enjoin all well meaning Anioma sons and daughters to support Sen Nwaoboshi in his 2nd term Reelection bid for a more robust and purposeful representation of the Anioma people.
