The effective representation of the lawmaker representing Delta North senatorial district and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is gathering hyper momentum with the passing of each day. His administrative acumen is now felt beyond the length and breadth of Delta North Senatorial District.
Recall that on the 13th day of February, 2018, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, at the floor of the Nigerian Senate had moved a motion before the senate titled *"Motion On Scarcity Of Lower Denomination Currency Notes".*
The motion sponsored by the Delta state man of the year 2017 (Senator Peter Nwaoboshi) seek to lessen the huge burden faced by Nigerians in terms of difficulties as a result of scarcity of lower denomination currency notes.
Following the Motion by Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the Senate waded into the issue and carried out investigations which birthed recommendations to the Central Bank of Nigeria on the best of ways to address such anomaly within the financial sector of the nation's economy.
Meanwhile, yesterday, 27th February 2018, the Central Bank of Nigeria began the distribution of Lower Denomination Currency Notes (5 naira, 10 naira, 20 naira, 50 naira) and promised its wide circulation across the country in the next few days which will go a long way towards alleviating the suffering of those directly affected by the scarcity of these denominations.
The Director ,Currency Operations Department of Central Bank Of Nigeria, Mrs. Priscilla Eleje while addressing traders in Wuse market FCT, appealed to traders to avoid storing money at their homes for private uses, but rather they should invest them on daily business transactions in the market to avoid artificial scarcity.
Reacting to the current development, Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi appealed to the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) to carry out sensitisation programmes across the country on the usage of lower denomination currency notes. Adding that the banks on their parts must endeavor to make these denominations readily available to the general public.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is proving to be a blessing to Delta North region and the entire country as he continues in his effective, efficient and proactive representations.
