Delta Lawmaker, Hon. Timi Tonye Insults Constituents for demanding Stewardship

Direct reports have seen a video online which is trending on various platform, in which members of Patani Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly are calling on the member representing them to give account of his stewardship. In a video message tittled " Message to Hon Tonye Timi, Member Representing Patani Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly on his Misrepresentation of Patani Constituency " by one Etolor Anslem Taredoubra, where he asked the lawmaker to tell the world where his constituency office is located, as well as his members of staff that work in the constituency office. He also asked the lawmaker if he has embarked on town hall meeting / constituency briefing after spending three years in the state House of Assembly. He also asked the lawmaker to tell the world if he has carried  out any form of empowerment program, just as his colleagues have done who are members of the Delta State House of Assembly, or if he has done any form of students special assistance programme by giving out bursary to deserving students in Patani state constituency.

He went further to say the lawmaker has failed in the discharge of his legislative responsibility. He said " if this issues that i have raised are not germane enough, what else do our people need to say a man has failed in the discharge of his legislative responsibility responsibilities. You don't need rocket science to tell you that the man is a complete failure and disaster to Patani Constituency. for am man who prides himself with a PhD in developmental studies not able to perform his primary legislative functions and giving feedback to the people he represents, speaks volumes of the kind of man we have in the Delta State House of Assembly. He also gave example of how the Governor went round the state holding town hall meetings with the people of Delta State. Said Anslem

He said our people should be able to say black is black. If we call ourselves Christians and we go to church, we should be able to put things in proper perspective and not painting white as purple and saying black is blue. We should be upright and stand firm in defence of democracy and good governance. He said in this next one year of the lawmaker's stay in the state assembly, he will continue to demand for accountability knowing fully that the lawmaker will not come back in 2019. Our people have been taken into the dark era, and this is the season of light, and in the season of light, justice, truthfulness and equity shall prevail. We have left the Babylonian era, nobody will take us back to Egypt, we are no longer going to Jericho. He said, " now that we are in the season of light, our people will benefit from good governance and quality representation.

Finally he called on the lawmaker to a public debate that will be issue based. Instead of responding to the issues raised he has released his attack dogs on Facebook trying to divert our attention selling falsehoods and propaganda. No matter the intimidation, blackmail and antics or any other method they will employ in trying to keep us mute, we will continue to speak against bad representation until the right things are done. He used the opportunity to call on the Delta State PDP, led by Olorogun Barr. Kingsley Esiso, that our Representatives must live above board and we will continue to demand for accountability.  While thanking the people, he said this call is not a personal call, but it is done in the overall interest of our people and will continue to fight for justice and equity.
