    Okowa Calls For Intense Prayers For Nigeria


    Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has urged Christians to intensify their prayers for the country.

    Governor Okowa made the call yesterday (03-03-17) in Agbor  at the 2017 edition of the Organisation of African Instituted Churches, Delta State Chapter, (OAIC) Day Celebration, which had the theme “Let Your Light Shine”.

    The Governor, who expressed his optimistic that the recession would soon end, enjoined Christians to intensify their prayers for the growth and development of the country.

    While thanking OAIC for providing a platform for its members to intercede for the country, Governor Okowa stated that Christians as true believers should be good examples through their actions to unbelievers to bring them to God.

    The State Chairman of OAIC, Senior Apostle Sylvanus Okorote, commended the developmental strides of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and assured him of the association's support in the successful implementation of the state government’s SMART Agenda.
    He decried the nefarious activities of Fulani herdsmen in parts of the state and called on security agencies to step up actions by collaborating with traditional and community leaders in developing workable strategies to stop the menace.

    Apostle General Iheanyi Ibeji of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, who spoke on the theme of the celebration, “Let Your Light Shine”, called on Christians to put aside denominations and forge a common front in addressing the challenges facing the nation and the Christian community.

    The state Deputy Governor, Deacon Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, was represented at the occasion by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah.
